Week 15 … and then the rain came

32km … again!
Craig and I went out with the MTG and ran 32kms in 3hrs and 30mins. It was a good day – overcast, not too cold and not too warm. I started by running at my 6 – 6:30 mins per km. Overall that was an ok plan, but the last 7kms – well that is when the energy just left me. I mean, I had nothing. Once again proving, proper rest and eating well SEVERAL days before a long, long run is very important.

The group is excellent, lot of support for one another. Two of the girls were injured on the run today (ankle injuries) – so I hope they can recover soon. We also have a couple other out with injuries, Lisa being one of them. She is now worried about not getting to Ottawa. I found a lot of inspiration in her, hopefully she can work out her hip problem and get back on the road.

So overall a good run, Craig and I have something planned for our next (and last) 32km before the marathon. I think it will be great! Also, I am hoping Maria and Grace will come down to see us come in – as they will not be at the marathon.

Craig and I ran with the MTG last night, in the rain. It was an ok run, I was tired and did not eat before the run, so my energy levels were pretty low BUT at the home stretch I used my visualizations and dug deep – pushing myself to catch up with the lead group. Certainly, the running in Philly was much better!

We were supposed to run on Tuesday but I draw the line in slush, sleet and driving winds.

We are doing our long run (32kms) on Friday – as it is Easter weekend. I just have to keep telling myself I did it once, I can do it again.
